Trying to move out.

 This whole moving-out thing is turning out to be a lot more complicated than I had planned for it to be. There is a lot that goes into moving out and into your own space process that young people like myself don't think about but we really should. thankfully I have friends and some family who have been helping me along the way making this process a little easier for me. 

Started Reading a New book

 A week or so ago I went down to Barnes and Noble's to help me reignite a passion of mine, that passion being writing. I cannot locate the book in my room right now ever since I started moving, the book is about Vikings and that's all I know about it so far. I hope to be able to incorporate more Viking aspects into my future works and be able to pull inspiration from this book. I would like to personally thank Professor Wu for being understanding of my situation and everything that has been going on, and thanks to everyone who was in the meeting today for listening, that helped more than you know to know that there are people who will listen and offer words of encouragement.  

Personal update

 Life at home has been rather rough this month, parents are getting kind of toxic, and every day they give me a new reason to leave so that's exactly what I am going to do. So I have made up my mind to just move in with my girlfriend come the end of this month until I have saved up some more money to move out with her into our own apartment. Thankfully school is wrapping up so I wont have to worry about that but it is what it is.  

Anime/Manga Recomendations?

 I have recently caught up on both the manga and the anime for Jujitsu Kaisen as well as a few other anime and I was wondering from anyone who also watches anime if you have any good recommendations for me while I wait for a new chapter/episode a week to drop for the other 6 anime/manga that I am invested in. 

Random Bit from a Book I wrote

 

Prologue 

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Azure the fates, will, and love of two special individuals, Royal Knight Caleb Blackburn and the fair Princess Kaytlin of Azure would be tested by the outside forces that wish to keep them apart. Arranged marriages, family secrets, mystical forces, ancient curses, captivity, and torture. All these obstacles and challenges that would stand to see love die for our two love birds, can they be overcome? Will love win out in the end? Or will the obstacles they face prove too much for their love to handle? Find out in this tragic, crazy, love story.

Chapter 1

These midnight meetings became a routine for Caleb and Kaytlin, every night they would meet in her chambers thanks to the help of the Princess’s sister and best friend Princess Ellame, only allowed to be called Ella by a select few people who she liked and trusted. Princess Ellame would help Caleb sneak into Princess Kaytlin’s chambers, being the only one who approved of their relationship and who would keep their secret just that, a secret. But tonight was different because it would be the last night they would spend the night together as Kaytlin was to be wed off to the neighboring Kingdom of Shinebrick in an arranged marriage that would finally end the conflict between the two kingdoms. She had many times before then tried to plead with her father, King Leonidas of Azure VI, that she couldn’t marry someone she didn’t know, especially if she did not love them. Her strong ideals of love were instilled in her by her mother, the late Queen Katarina who she had a great relationship with; it was her mother who taught her the importance of finding true love and that she would find that someone one day. Those were her last words to Kaytlin before she passed due to an incurable illness. It was obvious after that day of the Queen’s passing that the whole kingdom was greatly affected by this. It had hit the royal family especially hard but it had the biggest impact on the King as not long after the Kingdom of Shinebrick had declared war on Azure. On the losing side of the war, King Leonidas had no other choice than to try to negotiate with them. After two days of negotiations, a solution was reached, an arranged marriage between the two kingdoms in exchange for an end to the conflict. Unable to offer much else King Leonidas accepted the deal and the Treaty of Azure was signed. 

Caleb also tried to argue against the need to comply with Shinebrick as he did not trust the treaty, but his words carried no weight in Leonidas’s ear as Caleb was only a Royal Knight and not a Royal Grand Knight like his father, Royal Grand Knight Vidal Blackburn II. Caleb’s father knew of his feelings toward the Princess and didn’t approve of them, believing that these feelings would hinder him from becoming the greatest Royal Grand Knight in their family line and that he should prioritize his training and tradition. Caleb and his father never really had the best relationship and didn’t talk much due to his tough upbringing and after it was assumed that his mother, Karmen Blackburn was taken by the dragons on Mount. Targon, never to be seen again. His father had been hard on himself as he felt responsible for the incident. He had been constantly pushing Caleb to become the knight that he felt that he could not and a rift formed between them over this as Vidal raised Caleb as more of a soldier than a son and rarely showed any approval or affection towards him. 

Ellame could feel Caleb’s inner sadness as she guided him to Kaytlin’s room knowing that there was nothing they could do to stop this from happening without re-igniting the war. Caleb, noticing Ellame’s frustration, tries to assure her that she has done her absolute best and thanks to her for all that she has done for him. 

“Thank you Ella for all you have done for me and Kaytlin, you would have made a great sister-in-law.” 

She starts to cry and hugs Caleb, 

“Please just promise me that you will protect her and love her forever”

 

She says as she sobs. 

“You have my word Princess that I will love and protect her always.”

“I’m going to miss her Caleb” 

“Me too Ella, me too.” 

He says as he pats her head. She lets go of him and wipes her eyes. 

“You will always have my blessings, Caleb, now I must go before anyone gets suspicious of my whereabouts. Good night Sir Caleb.” 

She says as she begins to walk back to her room. 

“Thank you Princess Ellame and have a good night as well.”

Life update

I know that this is probably not news to anyone in this class as we are all most likely going to pass the test but, I wanted to share the news that I passed the MOS exam! I told my girlfriend about it and she took me to this really artsy cafe to celebrate called Gabi's Cafe and I had a really good time. These last couple of weeks have been a little rough but I am glad to say that I am back in full force and I will continue to keep this energy. I hope everyone is having a good week and staying safe. Congrats to anyone that has passed and good luck to anyone who is going to. 

My secret obsession

So I have a secret obsession with collecting DBZ (Dragon Ball Z) action figures and I currently just received one that I had pre-ordered back in April of last year. I have over 30 FunkoPops and 15 figures and I only plan on collecting more and more through the years. DBZ holds a special place in my heart as the very first anime I ever watched that my dad had shown me when I was about eight or nine years old. One of these days when I get the display cleaned up I will show it to you guys so stay tuned for that.

Second blog post, I don't really know what to put for this one so I guess I'll talk about my goals and dreams after I graduate. Ultimately I want to become a video game writer, it's pretty much the job of a screenwriter but for video games. I have long had a talent and a passion for both writing and video games, some of my fondest memories as a kid were playing and experiencing video games. My love for them only grew as time went on and being such I decided that I would make it my career, so I did what anyone would do and I started trying to make my own game. I am still in the process of doing so but I am going to school to learn the skills and earn the certifications to eventually put me in the position to line up that perfect job as a video game writer. In my free time I write, A LOT. I finished writing a book that was supposed to be for my now ex-girlfriend that I still take great pride in. I would like to maybe one day publish it as a final dig to her after it becomes a New York Times Best Seller or something. In the meantime, I will continue writing and educating myself more and more about gaming so that one day maybe even you, yes you the reader, maybe playing one of my games. 

IS 101 First Impression

Saturday, January 23 

 Going into this class I  really didn't know what to expect, I had never taken a purely online class before that incorporated WebEx meetings with the classwork but surprisingly I have adjusted fairly well to the change. The professor is very interactive with each and every student and makes time to really get to know you which adds to the overall ease of the class. Knowing that you can reach out to your professor and hear back within the same day is a really reassuring feeling, to say the least. I don't anticipate having any real problems with the class or the assignments/test as I am (by my own accord) pretty proficient in the subjects that this class will cover, that's not to say that I won't learn anything new and be exposed to foreign concepts and ideas, just that I don't see myself struggling with the stuff that I do know as it should all just be refresher material. I am most excited about working and interacting with my fellow classmates and being able to meet new people and connect/network with them.
