My goals and interest

 Thursday, January 28, 2021

Second blog post, I don't really know what to put for this one so I guess I'll talk about my goals and dreams after I graduate. Ultimately I want to become a video game writer, it's pretty much the job of a screenwriter but for video games. I have long had a talent and a passion for both writing and video games, some of my fondest memories as a kid were playing and experiencing video games. My love for them only grew as time went on and being such I decided that I would make it my career, so I did what anyone would do and I started trying to make my own game. I am still in the process of doing so but I am going to school to learn the skills and earn the certifications to eventually put me in the position to line up that perfect job as a video game writer. In my free time I write, A LOT. I finished writing a book that was supposed to be for my now ex-girlfriend that I still take great pride in. I would like to maybe one day publish it as a final dig to her after it becomes a New York Times Best Seller or something. In the meantime, I will continue writing and educating myself more and more about gaming so that one day maybe even you, yes you the reader, maybe playing one of my games.

  1. Learning how to make video games requires passion and specialized skills. Those specialized skills involve hours of training and practice. One tangible measurement are the copious amount of certifications. The Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications, especially Excel, is a good starting point and practice :-)

  2. I love hearing about what other peoples passions and goals are. If you were to create your own games what kind would you make?

  3. What kind of game genre do you plan on writing about? I personally like horror video games.

  4. Sounds good to me. I'll surely play it if it's Sci-Fi oriented or even a Horror game. Video game writing is definetely very appealing, especially to a creative, intelligent mind. I've thought about lending my musical abilities to a video game development team for their soundtracks. Let me know if you want to play some Street Fighter or Tekken with me, haha.

  5. That's amazing that you have such a passion for writing. I definitely want to hear more about the book you wrote, and I stand with you on your "final dig" to her by getting it published.

  6. First off: your background is awesome. It was a nice surprise, so thank you. Second, thank you for being vulnerable and posting about your interests and goals. Often times it's a theme we want to keep to ourselves, but we're a great group and I already see that we want each other to succeed.

  7. Wow, it's good to know what you want to do in your future. I am still clueless and lost as to what I want to do and study.

  8. I heard game developers make some really good money. I actually took a class on Flash for animation but they ended up doing away with Adobe Flash.

  9. I am a huge video gamer, I love video games, but writing? Yea no, haha. English was my worst subject, it was easy but I didn't enjoy it. I personally hate writing.
