So I have a secret obsession with collecting DBZ (Dragon Ball Z) action figures and I currently just received one that I had pre-ordered back in April of last year. I have over 30 FunkoPops and 15 figures and I only plan on collecting more and more through the years. DBZ holds a special place in my heart as the very first anime I ever watched that my dad had shown me when I was about eight or nine years old. One of these days when I get the display cleaned up I will show it to you guys so stay tuned for that.
I have heard of Dragon Ball Z and a few other anime titles.
ReplyDeleteI never understood the attraction of FunkoPops. A few years ago, I took my wife and her sister to the Toy Convention. When we were in a booth that showcased and sold those bobble-heads -- ahem, FunkoPops -- her sister mused: "I don't see what's the big deal with these bobble-heads". The homely and portly fella that manned the booth proudly exclaimed "They are the only most collected items in the world!"
Hmm... reminds me of the Comic Store Guy from the Simpsons. But I see how FunkoPops may be a big thing to some folks ^_^
This is pretty cool, I have never heard of DBZ. I used to collect some figures named "Homies". I still have most of them but haven't seen any new ones.

DeleteI would love to know what some of your grail FunkoPops are. I don't collect them myself but I actually do like the way they look.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching DBZ when I was a little kid but I'm not that into it these days. I have a friend that loves to collect FunkoPops and I think it's nice to see them be excited for something as simple as that.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very heartfelt memory of DBZ! I haven't thought about that show in forever. Are the FunkoPops the little animated bobble heads? I can't wait to see what that your display looks like!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I watched Dragon Ball Z so many time with my friends when I was in high school. I'm so jealous of your collections. I only own like 2 Dragon Ball Z action figures that I got in China Town LOL.

I always admire those who dedicate time to collecting them, but I've only ever gotten as far as staring at other peoples collections or simply picking them up at HotTopic and setting them back down. I can't wait to see how you've arranged your collection in the near future however.
ReplyDeleteI like anime, but for some reason I just refuse to watch DBZ. Before I got into anime, every time I saw it on TV, I thought, this is weird and would quickly change the channel.
ReplyDeleteI love DBZ, going up I'd watch it and finished Dragon Ball Super when the episodes finally came out dubbed.
